Ike Oberman Co-Owner
Ike Oberman has co-owned Burhop’s for the last 15 years. A Certified Public Accountant for over 40 years, Ike oversees Burhop’s operations and finances. Though he usually works behind the scenes, Ike can be found on busy holiday weekends helping out at the register.
A resident of Winnetka, Ike and his wife Judy have two daughters. For leisure, golf is Ike’s sport of choice. Fishing is a pastime he indulges in maybe three or four times a year.
But Ike truly loves fish and is quite proud of Burhop’s. "There really is no other fish store that provides the quality service we do," he says. "If you can believe it, I even have stories where I’ve met people out of state, in Seattle and Palm Springs, who know about our store!"
Ike’s Three-Minute Recipe (Okay, it’s takes a bit more than three minutes, but it’s still quick!)
Cook up 8 oz. pasta al dente. While the noodles are cooking, sauté some rock shrimp (1 lb.) with crushed garlic. Mix everything together, top with goat cheese and serve. Serves two.
