Before Burhop’s, Ruth owned Café San Marcos, formerly of Plaza del Lago. She also was assistant manager at Don’s Fish Market and general manager of The Good Earth restaurant in Los Angeles, California. She has been a co-owner of Burhop’s since 1990.
For fun, Ruth refinishes furniture and designs needlepoint canvases. A mother of identical triplets, Ruth likes food that is healthy yet tastes good.
"Burhop’s fish sticks and breaded orange roughy fillets are quick, easy and the kids love them," she explains. "We also like anything Sam makes, especially his grape leaf-wrapped scallops with goat cheese. He’s a great cook."
